SSPCN PPG Prostate Cancer Presentation Evening – Thursday 21st November 7:30pm till 9pm

We cordially invite you to attend our Prostate Cancer Awareness Presentation. This informative event will feature expert speakers who will provide valuable insights into an issue of critical importance to men’s health. Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in the UK, and as with all cancers, early detection and prevention are key. Our presentation will cover essential information on recognizing early symptoms, preventative measures, and the steps to take following a diagnosis. We look forward to your participation in this important conversation. As before with our previous presentation evenings, we will be holding this even at the Roaring Meg Stevenage Community Arts Centre (next to costa) from 7:30pm till 9pm, warms drinks and cake will be provided during the interval.

SSPCN PPG Autism Awareness Presentation Evening – Thursday 19th September 2024 (Complete)

We welcome you to attend another fantastic joint presentation evening, led by a member of each surgeries PPG and helped organised by the Stevenage South PCN. This presentation will focus on how people with a Neurodiversity diagnosis and those who care for them, can find support in the local community. With 3 speakers from key local charities, lots of information will be available for those who need it. If you are patient registered with one of our surgeries or not, we welcome you to attend at the Roaring Meg Stevenage Community Arts Centre (next to Costa) from 7:30pm till 9pm. Warm drinks and cakes will be provided during the interval.

Update 30/09/2024 – Our best turn out yet! People from all ages attended the event, 3 speakers who have life experience living with and caring for those with a Neurodiversity diagnosis, delivered informative information on the support available in the community for those living with or newly diagnosed. We are now looking ahead to November, for our next presentation evening. Information on the event will be out soon.

 

SSPCN PPG Dementia Presentation Evening – Thursday 18th July 2024(Complete)

After a successful Parkinson’s presentation evening on the 16/05/2024, the Stevenage South PPG are back with a Dementia awareness evening. If tea, cake, coffee and information digestion is your thing, we welcome you to attend. The presentation will be held at the Roaring Megs Stevenage Community Arts Centre (next to Costa) from 7pm – 9pm.

Update 22/07/2024 – We had a fantastic turn out for this event and the presenters delivered informative and important information about the services they offer, how to access them and what they are currently doing in the community. With the increasing diagnosis of Dementia and Alzheimer’s, it is important to make sure that those who are diagnosed or those who care for those with Dementia and Alzheimer’s are aware of the support that is in the community.

Stevenage Day – Sunday 9th June 2024 (Complete)

Stevenage South PCN will be attending this years Stevenage Day, in a joint effort with the Stevenage South PPG, we will be offering information for local services and charities who can help support people in there daily lives. Members from our surgeries PPG groups and SSPCN staff, will be there to signpost and help answer peoples questions.

Update 10/06/2024 – Stevenage Day was a success, allowing us to engage with both patients and the wider community. We are extremely grateful for the time you spent with us. We were able to share an overview of our network’s goals and look forward to future opportunities to do the same. Thank you to our wonderful PPG members, and Shiela from Diabetes UK for ensuring the day ran smoothly.
