First Contact Practitioners (FCP)
What are First Contact Practitioners?
First Contact Practitioners (FCP) are MSK (Musculoskeletal) healthcare professionals with advanced skills in assessing, diagnosing and managing MSK conditions.
How to Access?
The SSPCN provide FCPs directly to each practice, patients can then book an appointment directly through your medical practice, by asking your GPs reception team to see a FCP.
Why see and FCP over a GP?
FCPs specialise in all MSK area’s and can offer faster access to specialised care, potentially quicker diagnosis and treatment, and better management of MSK conditions.
The wait time to see a FCP is shorter than seeing your GP, allowing for quicker diagnosis and treatment.
FCPs have advanced training in assessing, diagnosing, and managing joint, muscle, and nerve pain, offering tailored advice and treatment plans.
