Patient Participation Group
What is a Patient Participation Group (PPG)?
A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a voluntary organisation, comprised of individuals who are patients of a GP Practice and want to help it work as well as it can for patients, doctors and staff. The NHS requires every practice to have a PPG. Over the years the SSPCN has worked closely with the individual practices PPG’s and as outcome of our work with these members, we have created Stevenage South PPG, with representatives from each PPG group.
Why do we have a PPG?
The PPG exists to provide patients with a voice within their surgeries, ensuring their ideas are heard and considered, fostering community engagement, and improving the overall quality of care by incorporating patient feedback and perspectives.
Who are the Stevenage South PCN PPG?
The Stevenage South PCN PPG are a collaboration of dedicated PPG members from Bedwell & Roebuck, King George & Manor House, Knebworth & Marymead, Shephall Health Centre and Symonds Green Health Centre.
The SSPCN PPG have collaborated on various different projects over the last few years, you may recognise some of them as our regular marshalls at our COVID-19 Vaccination clinics.
The current members of the SSPCN PPG are the chairs of the individual practices PPG:
Graham Fothergill, Rosie Chisnell, Ron Walker, Lorraine Cator and Derek Albone.
